Because my focus this year is more in competing cross-triathlons, it was all clear that I started at the Neroman in Wiesbaden. You had to swim 500m in the pool of the Opelbad, ride 21km on the MTB and a closing run over 5,4km thru forests.
At the swimming part, you had to choose between two lanes, slower than 10min and faster than 10min. I choose the slower than 10min, the problem now was, that I was the fastest on my lane, and I´m not used to it. So, because I wanted to defend my leading positions, so I was a little bit exhasuted after the swim, I remarked it on the bike, I was almost knocked out, I think the reason is, I wasn´t in the water for at least 2 weeks. My bike split was allright, but than came the running part…
Somehow, I only found my pace on the last km, so, I wasn´t able to show how fit I´m in running by the time.
Well, I wasn´t very happy about reaching the finish after such a short time and few km´s.
After my exercise-mates reached the finsih-line, they started 5 start groups after mine., we took a picture of us.
Than we waited for the winner ceremony, it was worthwhile, I was the 2nd in my age-group and 4th overall, the only downer was, that the woman on the 3rd place were only 13 seconda ahead of me, If she only were in my starting group….
I gotta say thank you to Uli Scherbaum, that I´m allowede to use his pictures for this bulletin.
See you soon,stay in shape...
