1st Wild Boar Run in the Harz

Obvisoulsly I wanted this season to concentrate myself only on riding MTB, but I didn´t want to miss the 1st Wild Boar Run in the Harz as well, and so I decided myself to run only one round over 7km, normally you had to run 3rounds. After I trained for a whole week for this event and even waisted some time of my school trip on it, I sttod at the starting line with an Olympic thought, participating is everything. So, I lined up in the first row, because I didn´t want to wait at the hindrances so long. My pulse went up to 190, when I dived thru the first hindrance and suddenly a burning ambition hit me and I tried to hold the speed of the beginning.

On the course they had really huge hindrances, like a tunnel to creep, an electric fence a downhill part, where they put lots of soap on it, lots of things you had to climb over, like a 40t truck and a pyramid with three levels of hay, lots of river passings, mud ponds, where you sunk until your knees and the last thing was a jumpminto a fish pond from 1,5m, and because of the changing deep of the pond, you sometimes had to swim or walk or whatever…

When I was able to hear the commentator again, The top of the field wasn´t in sight anymore and the pro-team “ Getting Tough” won the race. Finally I crossed the finish line were luckily and satisfied about myself. Than the announcer said, that I was the first of the young boar course and won this race. I cheered up some more, I was like in heaven and I decided to participate here next year again, but than on the large course.

I needed 38:38min fort he 7,3km long distance, taht shows how really funny the hindrances were. Than I was a little bit frustrated when I heard that the overall winner of the long distance, who finished under 2h for the whole course, needed less time in one round than myself for only one. But anyway, I stood for the first time in the Pirate jersey on the highest point of the podium.
