German mountain champioships in Albstadt

9:00o´clock in the morning in Albstadt: We were being welcomed with snow, ice, rain and hail and temperatures around 1,5degrees. Congratulations. Robby and myself registerd for a public stage race and raced in ice water. But Robby is a real cyclo cross rider and rode a good race and crossed the finish line first. So, he won the first stage of the race and entered the podium. My race was in the evening, at least the rain had stopped. I went really good for me, until, yes until, one woman got nothing better to do, than to ride right into me. I yelled very bad words, while I was lying on the ground, already covered with bruises and everywhere was blood. Didn´t care very much, got back on my bike, and crossed the finish line on the 27th place. 2nd day: Robby wore a spezial jersey fort he time-trial. He wasn´t the fastest but the most handsome guy around and really sharp on all pictures. After his race, he was again the supporter for his little twonk. I told me, don´t think about the pain in your pelvis, but the 106km were  really ambitious and had two hard to ride mountains. When I say they were long and steep, I would understate the fact, but I liked it Until half of the race I was still in the leading group, but after another attack, I had Hanka to let go, but I tried to follow really hard, together with a rider of the Swiss national team, but the wind became more and more and cancelled my tries. Finally I crossed the finish line together with the main field on the 21st place. Robby rode together with us on the course and my hero could cross the finish line on the 3rd place and won his age-group. In the overall ranking, he ended up o the 4th place. Benita Wesselhöft
