A race bulletin of the  Algarve.

Date: 16.09.2012 / Location: Tavira / Race: 3º Passeio BTT Santo Estêvão Course: 50km and 30km last year I finished on the 15th place, now one year later with some more exercise, I´m dreaming of a place on the podium. Sadly I had a bad tooth and became antibiotics and that wasn´t that good for me. It´s funny how much you loose when you won´t exercise for real in 5 weeks. So, I just had time for 3 exercise untis before the race, to let my muscles know, what the have to do. And so, I started from the front row... The speed was very fast´n hard right from the beginning and soon a group of 20 took the lead, within the group a good friend of mine Sebastian Breuer, who finally took the 2nd place after a fierce sprint fight for victory with the pro Samual Caldeira. In the beginning I tried to catch the field, but han I remarked my long time off. Butt he main thing of a race is not the podium is bout having fun, and I had fun, I had some fights ot battle´s inbetween with some other riders and slowly I got rid of my chasers The course was really good and really varied, the food supply was good, the organizers know how to plan a race. In the beginning there was a large field behind me, these two guys, I saw again in the finish area. Well, riding a MTB, is not just power and endurance even you´re in need of some technical practise, than it´s fun pure. The last groups I collected 2km ahead from the finish, but the race ended with a ride thru a single trail and we were counted in a row. Finally I took the 17th of 100 overall and had 12 minutes back to the first. I needed 2:07h for the 50km and 750m of altitude with an average speed of 22,5km/h. Not bad, or??? Where is Titus??? Conclusion: it was a super exercise with lots´of top athlete´s and a wonderful BBQ at the end with lots of cool beer of course. The next races are at the 30.09.2012 ( National Championship XCM 110km and 2500m.o.A.) and at hte 14.10.2012 the grand final of the series, the Taco do Algarve, whereI get some support from Ron.
