On Saturday the 21.07.2012 was time for the Allgäu Olympic triathlon.  Because of the bad weather forecast, I was a liitle bit sceptical before the race, while we had temperatures around 10degrees and drizzle.

But luckily I had some back up, who supported me very much.

I was heartly welcomed at the shore ridge and also I recieved some help to put my wet suit on.

After saying good bye to my family, it was time for me, to get into the water with the other triathletes.

The race should begin with a water start, and because of that, you start to shiver and freeze very much, while waiting for the race to begin.

I was really happy the starting signal, so it was no time any more to freeze.

All 1500m of the course you were attended by boats. On the swim course, soon, they got different fast groups, and so I was able to swim in the swim shadow of someone else.

By staying in these groups the triathletes came back to the transition area, to change themselves for the bike course and to get rid of the wet suit.

But when I reached my place in the transition area and wanted to get my bag ( #897), someone else already took it. My daughters were really excited and told me, that one of the faster swimmer took my bag, by mistake of course.

Luckily I already wore my complete bike dress under my wet suit,  and it was granted by the judges without my bag and so I was able to go on with the race.

Now, it was time for the ambitious bike course, with lots of ascents and some, because of the weather conditions dangerous downhill sections.

Soon, after 3km you come to the first lengendary ascents up to the Kalvarien hill with about 15%, and of course lots of viewers and spectators.

But the really hard and bad ascents you had to handle with between km 18 to 25.

You can see it in my face, that the bike course was really hard. But when I came to the transition area to change for the running part, my daughter Madita was already there, to cheer me up for the running course.

My hands were so cold, and because of this, I wasn´t able to put on my running gloves.

The first k of the run, was very torturous.

But soon I found my running style after 3km , my other daughter, Lina-Marie waited form e near the transition area to support me, while slower athletes just came to the transition area.

Around the corner waited Madita for me, to shake hand and than it was time for the last 7km. Than…Finally the last 400m thru the stadion…

For the 100m on the home straight Lina Marie waited for me, to chase and hunt me into the finish.

1st place in my age-group. Thank you ladies, thank you very much.
