Bad Harzburg 29.04.12

While weh ad wonderful weather, wem et each other fort he first race of the MTB cup ot the Harz 2012 in Bad Harzburg. Start and finish was on the horse race track, right in front of the tribune. It was very impressive… I thought for some time about, if I shoulf ride the long ort he middle distance. One week before the race I inspected the course and decided myself to ride the middle distance race with my fully. I trained a lot in the wintertime but the middle distance was better for me, because I didn´t have long rides that much. Moments after the starting signal the field went on towards the first hindrance, an uphill trail, by the way, it felt like that the whole race was only uphill. So, I tried to find a matching group and tried to survive. I had to ride 3 rounds. Altogether 60km with 1600m of altitude and finally I finished with a time of 3:32h and ended up on the 43th place in my age-group. When I saw my result, I decided to never ride a race gain. The relation of exercise and result wasn´t that good… …but later that evening, I registered the whole family for the marathon in Höxter.   Andre Döring
