After all this exercise and fun races, it was time to ride a marathon again. Normally I wanted to ride the 120km distance, but I was a little bit ill in the weeks before and so I decided myself to ride the 80km distance. I wasn´t really in shape and when Andre told that the race was closed last time after 4:30h, I knew it was the right choice to ride the 80km. Better it was.

I was a little bit late fort he start and so I had to line up at the end of the block. Andre was close by, but he wanted to ride the 120km. Respect….

Soon, after the start was a narrow passage, at it came to a jam and I almost hit the rocks on the side.

Some kind of hooligan made himself some fun of the riders and changed the sign of the course and so the leading pack took the wrong way and it came to lots of crashes and accidents. Because of the accidents, it came to some more jams in the field, I didn´t care very much about it, because I rode so far at the end, but I was wondering about the guys oncoming me with the bikes on their shoulders.

When the way was free again, I tried to get to the front and pushed the throttle.

And because of that, I rode faster, than my usual marathon speed, by the way, most of the others rode the speed, because of the crashes, it was almost a CC-race, but most of them burst later, because of the high speed.

After one hour, I decided to ride my very own speed again, because the gap to the front group was to large. I was on the 3rd place and the gap to the 4th was large enough and so I could go on with my speed on the uphill sections, I passed lots of guys who rode to fast at the beginning.

Moments later, I had lots of fun, like you see here. It went really good at this moment and I was attended by the guys of the Schließer-Bike-Team, we worked together, showed us hindrances and more, and we got one equal sponsor „ SQLAB“… by the way, the saddle and the insole I tested were really good. I had no problems with my back and this is important on longer distances.

The last hill before the finish, keep on breathing, Drea told me at this moment: Hey Moni, looks easy to me…

Allright than. Just one more smile for the camera, by the way, again, thank you for the pictures of this race, otherwise, I hadn´t any pictures for my bulletin…and YES…I´M the PRINCESS of ANDRE….LOL

Than I crossed the finish line, with a fantastic time, without my “ shadow” Andre, who always is there for me, to flatten every mountain, twho makes himself a carpet for me over ponds. And so, I got all dirty today…

I was really satisfied over defending my 3rd place from last year and I rode faster than last year and I think I´ll be here next again.
Andre…I missed you very much. Next time I´ll ride the long distance with you again. Sadly I did not have so much time to wait for you, but luckily we´ll see us in Munich. I´m really looking forward to it…
Also, some gratulations to Julia, for her first MTB race and for entering the 40km course, you did a good job….

Greetings

Moni
