After Moni and myself had some fun with our Cyclo-Cross-bikes and MTB´S in the mud, we tried our fortune on our road bikes as well,
and we choose the Velo Challenge 2012 of Hannover for our try. The hopes or wishes for summerly temperatures, we didn´t casre much
about, all we wanted that it would be and stay dry. While we were still asleep we travelled to Hannover really early in the
morning towards the Maschsee. After we received our starting package, we still got time to chill and to look around, what´s
going on here in Hannover before the start.
Wagging tongues claim, that Moni is my personal trainee for „ bump looking or ass watching“, but in this case,
she just fixes my start number…
One of the most important things at a race like this is, a good breakfast
...or something sweet….
Usually at the races, I rode behind Moni…
Moments later, I had to get to the very far end of my starting block, to my snails…
...and left them at Dani in the first row..
On my way back, I saw my other free time employer: Easy Tours…
vorbeigekommen.
Just for a short time, I thought about about to hide inside the Van until the race is over, but than I decided elsewise and
just put my stuff inside the car.
Moments later was the start with the “ wild” bunch
After the race we went again to an American specialitiy restaurant and because we just rode a few others, we just had coffee and
cake there. Just take a look at the picture inside the foam of the coffee.
Conclusion: Together we both remarked, that lots of the road bikers are suckers, they just wait for the stupid to make the work in
the wind, or wait maybe??? They just like to watch asses??? Than they refuse to change their places, no matter if someone burst in
front of you, they fight fiercly to get back on the last place. Sometimes is just enough to ride over a small bumper to get rid of
them in the back. The main advantage of this art of riding is, that you see very much of the scenery and landscape.
You can also say, it´s like triathlon only without the swimming, if it´s not raining and without the running, if you don´t have a
flat tyre.
But anyhow, we were satidfied with our results, it didn´t rain, and you always got headwind, if you´re a triathlete, if not, you´re
to slow….
And that we had fun on this race, is not worth to mention it.
Moni rode on the 4th place overall after 116km at the women´s race and 2nd in her age-group, and myself…well…yes…I finished…Don´t
care, just fun
