3rd place „ bij de dames“ at our Dutch neighbourson the  27.10.2012!

Yesterday was another GOW-race in Hardenberg, Netherland. GOW,is an aweome cyclo-cross series, with more than 18 different races in the east of the Netherlands, they even got some night races. One special thing of the series is, that they don´t have a hobby class, so everybody will start in the license class. HArdenberg is just an hour away from our home. This Saturday was cold with 2 degrees but with a brigth sunny sky. The perfect weather for this sandy course at the lake, which offered you lots of chang. Forest, meadows, stairs, streets and of course sand. Start of the women´s race was at 11:36o´clock with 35min riding time. (women were on the start, and myself with wearing an orange jersey ;-) First of all keep a low profile and than pass, when it´s possible, was my plan. After the starting signal I was last, than at the first curve I was stucked in the sand, but soon I was able to pass 5 other ladies and than I ended up on the 3rd place, my first podium place in a cyclo-cross race. I was very happy… Guido while he´s cheering :-) After the hot shower and a copje coffie met appelflapen, it was my time to cheer up Guido, he had to ride 50min. Most of the time he was attended by 5 other men and with them he rode together until the finish, so it wasn´t easy to ride his own line. There was no chance to get away from them, but on the home straight,he did it and took the 8th place overall. See you soon and lots of greetings from Lingen…   Tanja and Guido
