My first time with a pacemaker..

On the 18th of march 2012, I travelled to Bad Kreuznach. In the last two years I used to participate their at the Seppel-Kiefer Memorial Run, and ran the half-marathon. But, I haven´t trained very much this year because of the problems with my left foot, I only wanted to compete on the 10km distance, just to get to know, how fit I am... My friend and exercise mate Florian( with the blue shirt) told me, that he would bet he pacemaker form e. I was anxious about it, because I never ran before with a pacemaker. But it was really comfortable, you got one, who is always pushing you, who motivates you and someone who offers you some wind shadow... We ran constantly about 4:25/4:30min, while we got only 8degrees and continuous rainfall, it was faster than I expected and with a time of 22:13min we passed the 5km point and I was also able to speed up a bit on the last 5km and finally crossed the finish line with a time of 44:16min. This was a new personal best time for me over the 10km distance and I also won my age-group and  overall I ended up on the 2nd place. The winner ceremony was some kind of improvisational, because of the rain, they made it in a tent, but I won´t complain about it, by reaching these result... Doro
