A contest right in front of house? Of course we participated there, as in the last years, at the city run of Lingen.
But awe had a change, since this year 2012, we wear Pirate Jerseys.
The 5km run was a good preparations for our triathlon preparations. While we had wonderful running conditions with temperatures around 15 degrees, we went down town. We were attended by two team friends and more than 154 others.
Just one small talk with a friend, looked jealously to the ice-cream of a friend and it was time start the race. Don´t waste my time on these three rounds thru the down town, because when I ran fast and even more faster, I will get my ice-cream really fast as well.
After 22:07 min it was my time to cross the finish line, it was the 2nd place overall and also the 2nd place in my age-group.
Guido reached the finish with at ime of 19:56 min, ended up on the 12th place overall and 3rd in his age-group
But just when he finished,he turned and ran towards the others, who were still on the course, to motivate them. I decided myself to join him and support them as well.
Both of them did a good job and want to participate next year again.

Of course we rewarded ourselves with an ice-cream and some chilling afterwards.
