"Sigma Sport Bike Marathon" in Neustadt a.d.W.

Trails Trails Trails was the slogan of this marathon in Neustadt a.d.W. While all the other races wanted to challenge the riders with wideforest high ways and want to test the condition of the riders, the guys from Neustadt wanted to test the whole rider with all his offroad-skills. So, you had for miles and miles single-trails only wide as a hand thru the mountains of the palaninate hills,  and these are hills, I can tell you.. This race is one of my favorites and so I was really looking forward to it.  On race day, I grabbed Ubi, and we placed ourselves without warming up for real in the first strt row, so we hadn´t to wait in a traffic jam on the first hindrances. Both of us were registered for the middle distance over 57km and about 1450m of altitude. The “ Krahmann-brotheres” did the short one over 31km. While we had wonderful weather here in Neustadt it should become a hot race. On the sandy ground you had enough grip all the time and even in the dry creeks you hadn´t any problems, only the change between a trail and a graveled path, was one problem for me and my bike, but I only recieved some marks on my shin, but they didn´t bothered me, and so I coulf push the pedals really hard, because I felt like this as well and luckily I had a group, where no one were overstrained by riding up a hill and so,the pushing parts, were almost none. After 2:46h I crossed the finish line while I was on the 34th place, a few moments later Ubi finished on the 45th place. The was the last but one run of the “German Bike Masters Series” and now I´m on the 17th place in the overall ranking. Now, it´s time to exercise some more conditions for the last run and the finals in Trochtelfingen.   Until than „ Ride´n Smile“… Micha
