Bulletin of GOW Oldenzaal 01.12.2012

Saturday is my favourite day to race. So, you still got, half of the weekend left and the whole Saturday is not being wasted because of exercise.

I already participated at this race of the GOW CC-Cup in Oldenzaal last year and not with bad memories. The course is really good and I made my best race and position here last season. The weather was allright, all stuff packed and So, I was able to travel to the Netherlands

The course has changed this year, but it was all right again. Sand, bitumen, stairs, downhill sections, single trails and perfectly raked ground. Everything was you need and like. Even the warming up and get to know with the course was just fun. One special thing of the races in the Netherlands is, that you don´t got hobby classes and you´re just allowed to enter the course at certain times. That´s allright…

While I was watching the race, I talked to two Dutch Men and when they saw my Dugast tyres, we were almost friends, and even during the race they cheered me up, maybe because of my orange dress. That´s really cool…

The start was in the sand, because I just rode one GOW race before, I had to wait for a long time before I was told  to come to the start, altogether we were about 60 pro´s and amateurs riders. I decided myself for a running start, it was the first time of my life, that I didn´t sit on my bike at the start of a race., but it was the right choice and I was able to gain some places by this choice…
Right from the start, I tried to catch up with a group  on a long straight passgae and during a technical hindrance I was able to pass the group. It worked very good. I was very fast sometimes at this times, over 40km/h and this with almost flat CC-tyres…

Finally I ended up on the 11th place overall. I`m satisfied with this result and I also had some fun…

See you at the next event!
