Moin Pirates,

the P Way 2012 should be a long distnce form e this year. In 2009 and 2010, I rode the short distance and last year I finished on the 6th place in the combination ranking. On Saturday we went for the warming up to inspect the course togehter with Moni, Pit and Thomas. But as you all know, Pit knows half of NRW and half of NRW knows Pit, we had to wait for me, while he was talking with everyones over God and the weather, by the way, thank you Pit, for the nice accommodation. Than on Sunday, was race time... First of all, right after the start, the guys rode really fast, but I stayed with my plan, easy until the purple cow and than… I know, that it would be important to find a group for the middle of the race, to save my energy fort he end. Luckily Peter was in my group as well and made up a good speed. We were a group of eight, when we entered the forest. Than it happened, I already had tunnel vision, and forget a turn, of course you don´t listen on a long downhill section to to the shouts from the others, and you just keep asking yourself about half a kilometer later, why there aren´t anymore sign. Angry, I was and turned around, and the others...were gone...of course... After a chase hunt for baout half an hour, I saw Peter´s bright orange jersey before me and half an hour later I caught him. Damn he rode chain mostright, respect. Than we fought a private battle, on the uphill I lost him, and on the downhill sections, he caught up ion me again. Than, I had enough, pushed the bottom and accerated until the finish and the gap stayed between him and myself. While I was top20, I hit the wall on the last ascent and was passed by some other guys and finally I ended up on the 23rd place. Now I learned some more... Nevertheless, it was awesome race, while weh ad wonderful weather. Even of ome cramps it was allright.It took me 4:22:34h, about 30min behind the winner... Next year I´ll attack the  Top10.
