Normally the Rursee Marathon wasn´t on my schedule this year, but when November approaches I thought more´n more about the run, something you still should make this year. The only problem about this run was, that the Rursee Marathon is not a flat town marathon, it´s a countryside run with more than 870m of altitude and cross country. And because of the fact, that I didn´t really train this year for a longer event, I was a little bit nervous before the start. Last year I trained for more than 6 weeks just for this run, but I didn´t want to run this thing without a longer run and so I started to train for it, 4 weeks before it, I ran in this 4 weeks 153km, it´s like nothing. Heike wanted to attend me on the MTB, so I won´t be that alone during the run, which was a good thought, because the nutrition supply isn´t the best at a run like this and for my head.
So, let´s travel to the Eiffel….
Here I´m, start, just 5degrees and my friend was here as well, the wind…
After the first km´s I ran, I knew that it would be a really togh thing this run, because the ground was all muddy and soft because of the rain in the last days. There it was the first ascent, not run-able…at km 7, than you recieve some lactate…
But one good thing about km7 is, that you knew at km 8, Peter Borsdorff from
www.runningforkids.de.vu is waiting for you with his camera, for a closer check up of yourself…
Back to the fun, before the run I thought about running a 1:45h for the first half-marathon, because the 2nd part is much more difficult than the first. I hit the time, with a time of 1:44:42h I crossed the half-marathon line. Further on, when I passed km30, I knew the Rursee is just beginning, because km30 lies at the foot of a hard ascent and when you think you´re almost at the peak, the ascents even starts all over again, finally at km 39, it´s getting easier again
RURSEE GEROCKT…!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Last year I finished this marathon with a time of 3:34h and this year 3:37h.Awesome, just 3min slower with less training under even more bad conditions….YES….
After all, it was time for my reward. Cake, Cake and another Cake…
Now it´s time fort he off-season and to gain some weight during the winter, to get some more powers fort he bike part in Roth next year…
ATTACK and FULL THROTTLE thru the wintertime
Greetings to all the Pirates all over the world….
Rob…
