Enormous in shape

At the 12.05.12 we went to Komet Steckenborn, Eiffel fort he annually “ enormous in shape” run. They changed the length of the course since last year and shortened it by 800m so it became a clear 10km run, but at least the elevation profile was ambitious, you had an average altitude of 200m and you had a wonderful sightseeing by the course and a wonderful over the Rur-lake and the tops of the Eiffel.

Just to let you know, I didn´t want to run a new personnal best time, it was just an exercise run, just to train your body feeling and the allocation of the race. My goal was to run a time faster than 45min. On your marks, get set and ….go, the start was at 17:30o´clock.

Firat of all youn had to run downhill for 2km, while I did that I thought to myself, damn it, I´ve to run up it again later. Than the first ascent came at point 4,2km and because I didn´know how long it was, I slowed down a bit and after 400m, whoosh, it went still uphill with some more acclivity, so slowing down some more…Sometime the hill got an end…
The next ascent came by point 7,5km,when you took a look to you right side, you saw this….

But I thought: I don´t care about the view, I just want to get rid of this mountain. Than someone passed me and I tried to keep up with him, why does he still got so much power left and not me??? The last 2km and 1,7km of it, uphill, my legs burned. On the last meters before the finish line I saw Peter Borsdorff sitting by the side to take pictures www.runningforkids.de  Take up the thumbs? No, not today. Just keep on running , Robert Dreyling said once to me…

And it looks like this … J

Last curve on the sporting field and than…

….the finish  line. Finished. Ready. So, let me alone, get lost…

But after  minutes, everything was fine again, and I was really satisfied with my time of 44:43min, I reached my goal. Having said this: It makes fun, to torture yourself…
