Double weekend in Surwold und Papenburg

Finally it was time for the cyclo-cross season to start., sadly we missed the opening race at the Alfsee, because we both were ill. But the weekend later was a race in Surwold. We already knew the course from last year.It was technical quite easy but for your endurance it was hard, because of the deep grounds in the forest, and it didn´t become even better because of the rain, either slippery and wet. On out way towards Surwold it started to rain, but we believed and prayed, and at the start, the sun came out and the rain stopped. Tanja was first to start, during the first round she rode up the 4th place. It paid, that we had some technical training before, it was really good for the downhill sections and the turns. Finally the came quite cheerful into the finish while still lying on the 4th place in the license league. For myself, I just was being ready fort he race on time, I didn´t d anything in the last two weeks, but I wanted to have some fun again. Meeting the old cyclo-cross fellows, and to punish myself a bit. I had quite a good start and even the race went good for me. The last three rounds were good for my head, becaue my legs became weak and more, but finally I ended up on the 16th place. I was satisfied with it. One da later, we participated at the race in papenburg. The course was all around the lake with a long sand section., lots of single-trails, which were so narrow, that you couldn´t pass and one sany uphill passage. A technical course with lots of sand. Again, the women´s started before the men. In the beginning Tanja was on the 8th place, but fought very much to get the 7th, but it wasn´t enough today, but she know, that she learned in the two years of racing cyclo-cross. 2 years ago, she was on the start with a MTB, and rde slowly down the hill, and now...she is feeling the bike nd the ground better and better. The technical stuff is not worth  to mention, I just felt my legs from the race on the day before. I didn´t felt myself to push me some more to my limits, even on the san, I didn´t ran very fast. When I inspected the course I rode up the hill, but in the race...no chance for me... Anyhow: I didn´t want to quit, even the rain didn´t stopped me. Finally I ended up on the 19th place and was satisfied. But the best thing was, the nice talking with all the otherr riders. Being shouted at during the race. Our next race will be the Cup of Germany in Lohne( Look-Out). My goals? Well, it´s quite funn being passed and shouted at... See you soon Guido Pictures: www.Andis-Radsportfotos.de
