Season Opener of the German Cross Country in Triptis!

At the 14.04.12 I participated at my first race of the German Cross Country event. The first race was in Triptis and it was the very first time for me to start there. In the beginner class were more than 134 starters and together with the women we were more than 161 standing at the starting line. I still felt quite comfortable, but I became more and more nervous with every minute of waiting and watching the others. After a small talk with my helping hands about our strategy and when I should come in to get some fuel, I was really nervous. At this point  I like to say thank you very much to my helping hands Felix and Roman, thank you for your support and everything. Than everything became serious, tha last minutes before the start. I tried to relax and to concentrate, while I was waiting for the start. Finally the countdown for the race:   Start!!! Whew, what a feeling. Now pushing the throttle for at least 75minutes until the first tank stop. Everything went good, human and engine. Than the tank stop, went good, no problems. At this time I was already on the 36th place, while I was getting the fuel, I drank also a bit and went back on the course. After 2:01:58:473h and 14 rounds I crossed the finish line. YES, I did it and I was very happy about it. I ended up on the 54th place of 128. I was so happy about it, so I called a good friend of mine, Martin and told him the results and that I would join him the very next day at the 2h Enduro race in Rottleben.
