Rocky-Mountain-Marathon 2013 in Riva del Garda.

Last year I decided myself to ride the MTB-Marathon in Riva del Garda. I already booked a hotel for this event in November. So, at the 03,05,13 we travelled their. I can recommend you our hotel, the Hotel Forte Charme in Nago, with a fantastic view. On Saturday we relaxed a little bit at the pool, took a short ride. Than on Sunday I woke up at 6:00o´clock. Got dressed, prepared myself, eat something and still had some time to drink a coffee at the reception, than I rode with my bike to Riva. I started from block 4. The start was at 8:00o´clock. First we rode thru Riva and after 5k, we went into the mountains north of Riva. It´s a wonderful landscape here, in my opinion, it´s one of the most beautiful marathons, I´ve ever rode. Because of the fact, that the speed uphill wasn´t that fast, you still had some time to enjoy the scenery. The course was not easy with its 45km and 1523m of altitude. Sometimes the uphill parts were really steep and most of the riders had to get of their bike and to push them uphill. Even myself had to get of my bike sometimes. It was really slower than to ride and it was really comfortable for my muscles as well. On the last ascents, I had some problems, but I solved them and was really excited of the upcoming downhill section. Some of the others also had some problems, one rider who passes me, on a narrow section,suddenly wanted to dive. I asked him, if everything is allright? He said yes, Than I told him, next time he can say something and than I will let him pass.  But he replied, he didn´t wanted to pass, he just was to fast. Allright… Another rider just rode of the trail, luckily the first aid men, were near by. But already at this point I can tell you, the efforts were worth it. On the downhill section, you got sometimes a speed of over 70km/h. And fast as the wind, I was in the valley again. After 3:20h I reached the finish on the 158th place of 235 in my AG. I´m satisfied with my result. Now I will prepare myself fort he MTB-Marathon in Rottach-Egern, at the Tegern lake, which will be held at the 02,06,13. I´ll report you… Having said this...
