My preparations for the  Ironman 70.3 ST. Pölten are on the run.

One Step was the bike-marathon in Aachen. Here I got a flat tyre in my after only 70km. Anyhow, I was able to complete the distance over 170km and 1500m of altitude, quite relaxed This weekend I participated at my first triathlon this year. Sadly, we hadn´t any triathlon weather conditions, because of thunderstorms, hail and storm and temperatures around 6degrees. Even I should had some misfortune. We swam in the Olympic Pool and I was satisfied with my time of 7min for 450m. Even of the bad weather and the storm I had a good bike ride. For the first time ever, the course lead thru level 0 of the Olympic Stadion. You had to ride 5 difficult rounds, but they went past like a rocket. You had to concentrate yourself very much, because of the wet slippery grounds. The wet cold, made it difficult form e to open my helmet, my hands were all frozen, after the 5 rounds ith altogether 20km. Rounds, shoukd become a main theme that day. Like you see here, the running course was in between of fences and yu had to run 4 rounds. I was all focused on the run and had lots of fun while I was running, I was on the 1st place of my AG. I didn´t have any problems with the small hills. I was awaited in the finish by my both daughters, even of the rain. Than I received the message from the organizers, that I had to run one more round. My conditions was good and so I ran once more the 1,25km long round, but the 4min stop were really bad, for my time and un-reachable to catch again. It was like a new start, my first place was all gone, but of course in the face of honour, I wanted to complete the full distance. Than again, the RIGHT finish… Hopefully, they will manage to fix, their round counting until next year, maybe again with wristbands… Lots of greetings, Daniel
