7 Tower Triathlon Lübeck

I never did a complete triathlon before, just a Duathlon last autumn and in HH the relay-bike-part of an Olympic triathon. I you remember, Marcel was my sea horse. Now my darling wanted to do a triathlon in Lübeck and I used this possibility and participated as well. Dani lent me her wet suit, thank you, I would have froze a lot without it.   My darling was already really nervous the evening before the event, that he forgot to shut his car and his work-mates hauled his car and he had to get home by bus.    The next morning we packed everything into my car. Two bikes, two wet suit and lots of other stuff you might need for a triathlon and take a look, everything fit into my bike.   Our headquarter sent me some equipment, of course I want to look good, at least once. And because of the fact, someone stol my helmet in the bike wash area of the Four Peaks event. I needed a new as well. Just wait, if I ever catch you…. Well, everything looke good here on the event area with  view over the 7 towers of Lübeck. There were about 1000 participants, a new record and it was the regional championships of SH also.    The swimming was in the channel back there, it got some advantages like you just have to swim straight up and back again.  Here you can see my Pirate paddock. Ralf also, damn, he was nervous. He still had to get his car and didn´t know where and when…  Darling....just keep on breathing…  Last preparations and he started 30 minutes ahead of me and was gone…    What happened than? I don´t quite know yet. During th wim, I drank a lot and thought I wouldn´t reach the shore again, than on the bike, my legs didn´t want to change from frog legs to horse legs. Just up hill and against the wind, but at least I had the 2nd fates time of the women, and I do not have a TT-bike, yes, and running just pup one step after another. Overall 13th, yes, not bad, just really near the barfing frontier, like you see…   So, I became 8th in the women´s race of 70 on the sprinting distance and also I won my AG, I knew nothing about it, but now you can call me triathlete as well. My darling finished on the 109th overall place and 17th in his AG. Even we haven´t trained a lot, but we had lots of fun, also later when we got back his car.
