Hello Pirates, here a race bulletin from Munich

At the 13.07. at 12:00o´clock was the starting signal fort he 24h race in Munich. This time the weather was really good not like the mud party last year. I rode together with Flo Kratz in a double team. By the way, I didn´t knew what a 24h race is up to and if I would stand it. I rode 5 rounds in the beginning, even the first round was not being weighted, because, it was used to tear the field apart. But the round was the same like all the others. One round was 9km long and had 100m of altitude. Later Ir ode twice 4 but than we decided to change after each 3rd round. In the 2nd round it was time form e to kiss dirt, on a sharp left turn my front wheel slipped and I fell of my bike, but nothing bad happened, just some bruises. I just was in need of a bigger patch. After the first stage it was time to ride for Flo… I landed late Friday evening in Munich, I participated before the Celtman Extreme Triathlon in Scotland. And after we rode thr firdt rounds it looks quite good and until mid night we laid on the 23rd place of 42 teams and we were up for ore. But in the night we had to take some rests. I tried to stay within my rhythm and started again after a rest of 2h. By the way, thank you to Christian Lex from Bike-Doc.de, he lent me his lights in the night. Even in the nights there were lots of spectators at the side to cheer up the athletes. You were really motivated and pushed by them, even on the hard passages like up the Olympic Hill. During the rests in the night we fell back on the 31st place. We tried our best to re-gain some places and when the sun came out the power freshed up again. Until the bitter end we rode our rounds. We moved our transition area to our sleeping place, which was just 200m of the official transition area away. It cost some time, but we could rest a little bit longer. At the end we took the 31st place and rode altogether 47rounds. 23 of it Flo and 24 myself. Here you can see that we fit together really properly. Next year a team of 4 again. The mood was really good of the whole team and we had lots of fun. Even the Krahmann Brothers made a good job with their double team. Our mixed team of 4 supported us really good and of course they rode as well, and I´m sure some bulletins will follow. I like to say thank you to Rainer and the Sportograf for the nice pictures. They are awesome. Maybe we can start here next year with some more teams. This event in the Olympic Park is really good. We were all satisfied with our performance. Let´s get it started again next year, and hopefully with wonderful weather again. Greetings Michael Heins
