With my second try on the bike-marathon in Rhens. Which is located right by the river Rhine just a few kilometres south from Koblenz. They lock up here one the most beautiful MTB-bike courses I´ve ever seen, with real nice trails right through vineyards…

With high midsummery temperatures, the almost 800 bikers could decide between three different courses. While the organizer choose for the start a kind of easy going like you the in the southern parts of europe, we soon had traffic jams about a few 100 metres behind the startline...I didn´t care much about this, I just wanted to use the 50k course with 1300DA(Difference in Altitude) as a kind of exercise.
