Stage 1. 18.07.09 Mittenwald : 6 °C, heavy rainfalls, on the
mountains, everwhere white, 10cm freshfallen snow on 1800m,
1st stage cancelled, for the 1st time in the history of the
Jeantex Bike-Transalb ; Thank God ! We ride by train to Reith
in Alpbachtal.
Stage 2. 19.07.09 Reith im Alpbachtal: Fresh but dry – finally
it starts ! But the Geisljoch as the highest mountain today(2300m)
is cancelled, course was shorten, time split 30k´s before
Mayrhofen, the rest is for free choice and no jugdement. In
the evening in every pub in Mayrhofen you can hear live folk
music ; 60km plus 30km bonus plus about 2000m altitude is
84th place
Stage 3. 20.07.09 Mayrhofen: Weather is allright, toiday we
cross the main Alps- the Pfitzerjoch- we know us from the
year of 2007- we´re heading south ! Their´s a few snow and
mud in 2300m but everything on the run. When we arrive in
Brixen it is summer, its time for a fresh beer. In the evening
I change a broken spoke – spare part luck ! 95km plus about
2100m altitude is 81st place
Stage 4. 21.07.09 Brixen: It is still summer – ROYAL STAGE
- now we´re talking business ! Fantastic scenery, nice course,
no problems, we got personell reinforcement by Fritz, he arrived
to join us till the end. After arriving at the finish, we´were
ready for another beer at the village tavern. Now its clear
: Yes, we can !!! 84km plus 3600m altitude is 78th place
Stage 5. 22.07.09 St. Christina: We almost missed the start:
check in just 3minutes before the starting signal, right at
the beginning still fantastic scenery – Seiseralm…Then during
midday heat riding 1700m altitude and at the end an awesome
dowmhill track. But we felt safely on the difficult downhill
parts, but uphill is a little bit easier than downhill. In
the evening the whole village is on their legs - real nice
people ! 82km plus 3300m altitude is 75th place
Stage 6. 23.07.09 Sarnthein: Uli Stanciu supported and clapped
his hands for everybody reaching the finish line, supporter
by passion ! Today is 20% of the track is trail, lots of difficult
downhill parts and after 2h, it happens…Wolf crashes and injured
his knee - we finish this stage together under the effect
of pain reliever, but it doesn´t look that good. The food
and drink supply in Kaltern is awesome bad and expensieve
! 78km plus 3200m altitude - ???th place
Stage 7. 24.07.09 Kaltern: Wolf gotta go home, his knee is
swollen and hurts, cycling not possible, I´m able to share
with some bavarian guys the starting block, they aren´t anymore
in the jugdement. Because I´m a little bit exciting of my
new status as a single starter, I forgot Fritz birthday -
I rembered it somewhere in the middle of the race. The stage
runs good, at the end we got a few hard, stiffy uphill parts
up to Andalo, the village is really ugly and we´re going at
least 6km to the center of the village and two more uphill
parts to our accommodation, finally a few meters of altitude…logding
in “EL PASO” –“From Dusk till Dawn”sends his greetings ! 75km
and 300m altitude
Stage 8. 25.07.09 Andalo: Last stage – For the last time we
hear” Highway to Hell” at the start - I pray for no accidents
today or punctures ! I´m nervous because of the difficult
trails today, but it´s not as bad as all that, at the end
we got a light downhill part and wind from behind, I still
know the track from the Bike-Marathon in may, just like a
time trial, just the right thing for road bikers - What a
surprise at the finish line, my girls are waiting for me(Angela
and Antonia). I´m really thrilled ! But…I gladly would ride
thru the finish with Wolf- but without a little luck, it wont
work !
For last : Everything went fine for me, no accidents,no injuries,
everything allright. Real nice event, friendlx people, good
course, it made lots of fun – but...when we´re doing the missing
stage???
Many thanks, my dear PIRATE TEAM for your support – we often
were talked to because of our cool jerseys !
