On Saturday at 11am we arrived at the forest inn, in some little podunk village in the Kellerwald. The beds weren't made yet, but whatever, we threw the bags inside, put on our biking clothes and were off to the course.

Right on up the first hill and before we reached the top we made sure our chain was all the way on the right, because now it was time for the first high speed descent. But, what was this? The sign post was pointing in the wrong direction, so we shifted the gears back and made our way back up the 164 vertical ft/50hm with the 34. The descent went right through the forest and you kind of had to guess where the trail was. All the tree branches turned the whole thing into a gamble. Okay, somewhere in the description they had mentioned that the course was new. Really, well the "course boss" wasn't lying. The part that descended on a gravel autobahn is now a trail. This means that the horse needed to be resoled. Conti Twister Supersonic with the Explorer Supersonic on top.

The race began on Sunday at 9am, much too early, as always. The practice lap right behind the lead vehicle was pretty chill. At the first hill I was in the first group, but I failed at the downhill. A bunch of Dutch guys were in front of me and there was now ay to get past them. So, I rode almost completely alone in the second lap.

After over 900 starters had plowed over the course especially one of the trails got extremely muddy and became a small challenge. Otherwise, this course definitely won our approval and can be considered a challenge for the German low mountain range. At 25m/40km and 3280 vertical ft/1000hm per lap, respect to those who take three of them.
