…. Now the only running time is over, and ist time for „TRIATHLON“ again !

My first start on a triathlon after 2years of break was at the 22nd of may 2011 over the sprinting distance in Aachen-Brand. At the tradionally famillial competition, I compete my first triathlon ever in 1998, so, this meant…back to the beginning… The officer at the check-in were really keenly, and took a sharp look at my helmet, but rules are rules… The weather forecast told something of thunderstorms, but it didn´t come that hard, in between the showers, their was also some sunshine. But shortly before the start of the 2nd women´s field, you were able to see some dark clouds closing by...We swam in the indoor pool, and I escaped the waters after 9:16min and were in the mid-field, it wasn´t very good, but for my circumstances not bad at all… The first km´s I rode on dry grounds, but than came some showers, in between it felt like the cycling was the swimming part, because the roads were deeply under water. I was just glad about finishing the 21km long bike course, without any crash… The weather all dried up on the run, and it was even more comfortable for the fellow traveller of my supporting team…   On the run-course they had two ascents, small and crispy, and I was able to re-gain some lost places and so finished on the 5th overall place in the women´s field and 1st in my age-group with a time of 1:18:44h.
