Höllgrund –Radmarathon-Schwetzingen 2011

A sunday, which was directly made for the Pirates of the Hockenheim. The Pirates met each other at 7:30o´clock in the morning at the Schimper high school in Schwetzingen, to participate and start together at the Höögrund-bike-marathon, with a distance of 200km and more than 2000m of altitude. Our girls did the 110km distance, but that was not enough,after they reached the finish, the decided themselves to ride another course, the 46km distance and not to wait for their men. Awesome, these are PIRATE-GIRLS. After all, the girls had 156km and some more meters of altitude than they´re used to. And not to forget the distance riby riding there and back again, more than 180km…Respect… Team spirit was the slogan at the men´s race, it was cold and windy,but dry. Everything went good and fast. The course wasn´t an easy course, it was a constant up and down, and not to forget the heavy wind. We rode together , of course, but sadly we lost one, but we met him again, at the finish area.Gerhard had a bad day, hisrear  gear cable torn, shit. But he made up his way after Michael did his best to fix everything like in Nauders. We hough about giving up or thought about riding home,but we were able to motivate Gerhard and so we rode on, up and down. It was a really good performance of Gerhard and of the whole team, even the weather became better, warmer and the sun came out. But than we finally made it, and crossed the finish line with an average speed of 29km/h. We were all lucky and happy, without knowing what coming up next… The girls already waited there, with a trophy in their hands, for the 3rd place in the team ranking. A club, who stick together, which got fun and showed the others what really counts. Stay tuned and go on like this. Now, at the 10 of july we´ll participate at the Engadin bike marathin/ Swiss. Three of us will participate: Gerhard, Michael and Marcus. Well, hoist the colors high and push the pedals really hard…   Now, we gonna celebrate the trophy a little bit, and hope, that it won´t be the last… Marcus
