My new cross-bike was ready shortly before Christmas and now it was time form e to get to know my new bike and after some km´s in a forest nearby, I travelled to the German Cross championships in Kleinmachnow, last weekend. While we got cold weather conditions and drizzle I hide myself to warm up under the tent of Robby and Benita and slowly all the others arrived. The pre-runs started at 13o´clock, two times 6o participants and the best 20 of each run, would come into the finals. To be honest, I didn´t even thought about reaching the finals, because in Berlin and environment are lots of good cross riders and most of them stood at the starting line as well. I started in the first run, my friend Florian started in the second field, so it was only possible that we shoud meet us in the finals. I was supported by my friends and they kept me warm as well. Start: Full throttle right thru the mud. Half an out full speed in, over and around the Kiebitz-mountains, during the last round a friend of mine shouted, just two more guys to go than you got it. Obvisously I  wasn´t in the mood fort hat, because I already thought about a hot shower adn my couch, but I pushed the pedals harder and ….succeded...I ended up on the 19th place... Even my friend Florian made it to the finals, he finished in his run on the 18th place. Now it was time to cool down, eating, drinking and warming up again... Point 17o´clock, the course looked like a starship underb right light and fire, an awesome view. No time to think or to prepare some tactics. I started from the last row, but I was able to move forward shortly after the start. The course wa really good to ride and handle, even of some dark spots in the forest. The ascents in the sand were cruel and somehow I thought…Now or never…tunnel vision and go.... Soon my legs went out of power but anyway, I crossed the finish line while I was on the 28th position.. It was a wonderful acute and nice race with lots of friendly people adn an awesome experience fort he first time with my new cross bike.. Jost
