On the 10th of july I started on the middle distance in Albstadt
(86km/1650m of altitude), one of the classics races in Baden-Württemberg.
The weather showed himself from his best side, you even started
to sweat by standing in the starting box at 11:30o´clock.
We had temperatures around 36degrees, so it wasn´t a n easy race.
Luckily they had 3 refreshments stands on the course, so you were
able to refill your water bottles. This year we had lots of viewers
by the side, a few of them used their hosepipe to cool down the
riders.
Well, after 6 liters of waters and 3:34h I reached the finish.
Result: 114th of 2352 and 31th in my age-group of 804. Lots of
3300 participants weren´t that lucky to reach the finish line,
because only 2352 finished the vlazing heat race.
After I filled up my storages with nut cakes, bananas and lots
of liquids I went back to my car to relax a little bit.
And in the evening I gained my reward, a very special type of
regeneration drink.
My next race will be on the 8th of august in Neustadt ( the 4th
run of the German-Bike-Masters).
