Run ´n ´ Rock, 4th run of the coal mine “ Zollverein” in Essen, |
the last stage On sunday we dived into the landsmark of the Ruhrgebiet
plainly. The coal mine “Zollverein” is since 2001 a World-heritage
of the UNESCO, like the Taj-Mahal and is the last place of the
“run and rock culture heritage series” over the splitting half
marathon distance.
After we already participated in Bochum and Duisburg, Gelsenkirchen
we had to cancel because of holidays. But this time we ran with
144 other runners the 5,3km distance criss-cross thru the grounds
of the “Zollverein, between a park of sculptures, dusty and hollow
ways and chimney.
just to see sunlight again at the Run´n Rock party at chute XII.
This time we had no rain and with temperatures around 26degrees
were quiet comfortable for the party afterwards. Their were lots
of action, fun and music at and after every run.
When we took a look at the plan card of the course, we saw, a
lot of turns, U-Turns…no time for a running a personnal best?
Did anyone throw here his towel (shoes) INS KORN, and to give
up?
But it was just a lottery, but for the 3rd of Maren and my 4th
place and for my new personnal best time, weren´t any prizes,
so we have to run some more races in our old shoes.
When we looked at the results, Maren had 23:10minutes, 3rd place
in her aga-group and I had the 5th place overall with a time of
21:47minutes, 4th place in my aga-group and 13th overall.
After the usual run to the results, came the run for the curry-sausage.
