Our team, the Team Elgershausen were on the start at the Fisherman´s
StrongMan-Run 2010 powered by PIRATE HAMBURG and Joachim Nagel.
For the third time at all, the Fisherman´s StrongMan-Run took
part on sunday on the area from the airport of Niederrhein in
Weeze.
You had to do the 9kmk long course, twice, and it burst the shit
out of all participants, while you had to pass several hindrances,
about 27 at all.
The course you had to run lead the runners thru the “Danger Zone”,
the „Playa con Weeze“, the „Black Sea“ and several other hindrances.
The temperature was about 22`C, so it was really nice to cool
down a bit in the „ Gulf of Weeze“.
Here you had to pass a gravel-pit, an about 30m long lagoon, with
a water temperature of 11o`C. For all the non-swimmers and the
kind of athletes, who were the water to cold, their was a “ wussy-lane”,
but their you had to run an extra round, around the lagoon.
The peak out of the event was again the “ Spider`s Web“. It was
a huge net between two bunker. After a climb over bales of straw
you had to go down on the the net.
Than you had to pass some concrete pipes and meter´s high rack´s
of old tyres, than again passing the net but this time up, back
over the bales of straw and off we go on the running course again.
The Team Elgershausen were very active supported this time by
the „ Running Snails“, a female team with all the missus of us.
Not like us men, for the women(Alexandra Nagel, Nadine Blume and
Yvonne Höritzsch) was the fun factor the most important thing,
but after finishing the first round they drop of the race.
The fastest men of all Elgershauser was Joachim Nagel, he finished
509th from about 7000 starters with a time of 2:28h.
Alexander Herrmann missed the 3hour line,he finsihed with a time
of 3:01h and was the 2072th finisher. But even closer was it for
the dispensing optican Jens-Peter Ginsberg, he missed the 3:30h
mark, by 21seconds and finished 3952th overall.
The winner of the whole event was the man from Göttingen again
Knut Höhler, he finished with the awesome time of 1:42h and made
a hat-trick by running this race. With the whole team we finished
on the 140th place.
After all the sweat, dust, mud and whatever we made a BBQ on a
farm yard nearby, with all our families and friends, and kept
talking about the event.
