Pirate-power in the Spreewald
The running Pirates of Lausitz participated at the 8th. Frost meadow run. On the 3rd of january the Lausitzer running Pirates proved at the new years run, that they were unresistant against cold, icy temperatures or frozen paths nor snow.

This event was not only the start in the season of 2010 for the running group of the club of Kraft & Figur e.V. Hoyerswerda, it was also the running premier for Jörg Mikwauschk (46). On Sunday the 14th of february he started again, this time with an old-Pirate Steffen Gierth( 37) and capt´n Harald Skopi (31).

The temperatures outside were around the cold point, we had lightly snow fall and icy paths, but nevertheless, the 3 leisure time runners were on the start in quite a good mood with about 460 other participants, at the 8th Spreewälder frost meadow run in Burg/ Spreewald.

This event was some kind of experience and exercise run, so we started calmly, but we all finished the 10km under 1hour. Jörg M. showed a brilliant effort, while he started for the first time on this distance. The event was a wonderful small and nice organization, in the lovely valley of the snowy Spreewald. This event will take a solid place in our running schedule of the Lausitzer running Pirates, next to some other small, shorter runs, as well like half-marathons
