Traditionally on the 2nd Christmas Day, is cross-day in Harburg,
even we had temperatures of –10degrees and lots of snow, but
I participated. Firstly I inspected the course, but even the
RG of Harburg did a good job to make the clourse ridable, it
was really hard to manage it.
So, it came how it should be, right after the starting signal,
a crash, so, I had to run up the hill after the starting line
and the peleton was away. PHAT!!! Thru a second crash only 200m
after the first, I was able to catch up again. After that, I
was more busy with the course and myself, than with my rivals.
Lots of inclines, only be managed by running up that hill.
But when I took a look behind, I was sure, that no one were
able to reach or pass me, so I crossed the finish line on the
18th place. Later I was told, that all the others behind me,
pulled out of the race.
