Moin landlubbers,
and so I thought to myself, I´m just getting rid of the bogey-man…
But far wrong, and so, he stood right in front of me at the Worldclass
Marathon Challenge in Offenburg on the 16th of may this year,
okay not only just in front of me, he stood right before the starting
line on the course in Riedle and also he stood at the winner ceremony
at my side.
But lucky me, it was just the Tour de France devil Didi Senft,
he used to work as well for years here at the Worldclass Marathon
Challenge in Offenburg.
After the finish in downtown of Offenburg after my ultra-distance,
the shortest course of four with 32km and 820m of altitude, which
I choose for my re-entry. Suddenly, everything came up again,
being nervous just before the start, heavy gears at the hill,
fast downhill passages and finally goose bumps in Riedle and as
well after 1:25:23:7h crossing the finish line.
Winner ceremony for the 2nd place in my age group and 32th overall
for the “resurrected” Capt´n Pirate Ubi Blutsventje. Special thanks
to my coach “ Dr.Yoni” Katrin Schwing and to Anna and Jörg Scheiderbauer
for the fantastic event with about 2000 participants and as well
to the “ almost devil”.
