Buchholz

On sunday the 14th of august 2011 it was time again, to participate at the best CC-rac in northern Germany. As usual it was taking part in Buchholz and was very good organized by the RSG Nordheide.

A few minutes before the start, my coach ( Capt´n Ron ) told me the last informaton of the course, that the course a really slippery and that they shortened the race on now only 4 rounds, because it was still raining since hours.

And so we started in the pouring rain, but I had quite a good start and was the first to reach the trails, but after a few seconds I kissed the ground and tasted the flavor of the mud.

At the end of the 3rd round I was on the 3rd place, but got 3 men right behind me, I tried to get rid of them and pushed the pedal and raised the speed. I was successful, but at the next downhill part was a curve to the right and...BOOM...I kissed the ground again, and now I knew that my brakes didn´t wotk that well today, two of the guys passed me, while I got back on my bike, another one tried to passed and crashed as well by passing me and me, I did him right…BOOM…I was on the ground again, and the mud didn´t taste better at this point than at the other.

Last round, I was on the 6th position, damn it, because I told the chief before the race, that I wanted to enter the podium today. Just collecting my last powers, doing no more mistakes and so I was able to pass two guys and the other one was right in sight, only minutes before the finish. And we crossed the finish he was just a few meters before me, I wasn´t able to reach him, because I my strength was all gone, and so I ended up on the 4th place overall.

At this point a big comliment for the new and better course, the excellent organization and the really tasteful cakes and pies to the RSG Nordheide. A big surprise for me was the the prize bag at the end and finally the mud-race was fun after all.

Well, Oh Capt´n my Capt´n, next year I`LL enter the podium...

I´m really looking forward for the next year!
Willy
