Start of the running season– just scary…

This year we wanted to become the start oft he running season something special, maybe a little bit scary…in fact it was scary, but different than planned…but let´s stasrt with the beginning… We disguised and dressed up like Pirates on the 31st of october before we travelled tot he landscape parc in Duisburg to participate on a Halloween Run. Halloween Run, this sounds scary and beautiful, we thought about running thru a former industrial area, under a scary twilight…like I said, we thought… We arrived early, but the parking lots were already full, we gor the first negative thoughts, than running on a 2,5km long course with more than 1000 starters in the twilight??? We fought our way to the reservation desk to get our stsrting package, we received our starting number and a bag with some funny stuff and a headlamp and some lighting wrist bands. Than we looked for other members of the Pirate-Crew and waited with Roman for the start to come. But the scheduled start of the run drew closer and closer, but the queue at the start number desk, was still quite long and at the starting line, it was amess like on a fun-fair. Really disappointed we diecided to skip this run and run instead of this one round thru the forest of Wittringen, it was a charity-run for the lights of the sport parc, it was a run, organized very nice, not crowded and for a good cause. Really nice… Having said this, Henning ran the Halloween and finished the 10km run with a new personnal best time, under these cirumstances. Congratulations from our side… Maren&Reiner
