Highly motivated I travelled on the 14th of august to the Stevens Cup in Bucholz/ Nordheide with very good weather conditions.
Exactly with the start, it started to rain and it rained the whole race. We were 14 starters in our group and lots of them were very
prominent guys, so, finishing under the top5 wasn´t possible. The start went quite good and for the first two rounds I was able to
ride with the guys in the first group, but after the 2nd round, the top guys pushed the throttle and were gone.
I raced on with my very own speed, even the cheers of the team-chief, parents and friends won´t helped me to go faster,
but they made it easier.
After half of the race, Andre Zamponi rode up to me and we rode the race together to the end, like many races before.
Sadly I lost the sprint for the 3rd place ( Hamburg National Championship), but that wasn´t that bad, I was just glad that
I reached the finish healthy, because the course was very slipery.
After all, I ended up on the 8th place in the elite-class.
