Ilmenau

After we weren´t able to participate at the races in Winterberg and Todtnau, even by accurately timed registeration, our first race than was in Ilmenau: The slogan of the contest was: Ilmenau, blue sky, but when we reached Ilmenau, it doesn´t look like that… But luckily, the sky was airtight until Sunday. Even Steffen Lüdke started here, so were 3 Pirates on the start. After the shuttle ride up the mountain, we still had to push our bikes a little bit. While their were lots of crashing during the training, we had lots of time to hang around, because of the course blocking.   Just shortly before end of the training time, we were able to ride a full round. After a mistake of me by riding, David had to push his brakes really hard to avoid a crash with me, that he crashed on his own and twisted his wrist joint, so he only rode on his own safety and finished with a time of 2:34h in Seedigrun. During the race he lost control thru out a curve and weren´t able to reach his target time of under 2:20h. Our results: 1st Pirate Steffen with 2:32, 2nd Pirate myself with 2:34 and David the 3rd Pirate with 2:44h. Fastest rider of the day, was a guy of South Africa with an unbelievable time of 1:59h     Greetings    Andreas
