Fresh fallen snow on the mountains in Kitzbühl

The official contest jury decided in the morning before the start, because of their rules and temperatures around 7degrees, that the participants of the olympic triathlons( 1.5/40/10) were only allowed to race over the sprinting distance(0,75/20/5). Obvisously I wanted to start over the olympic distance, but you couldn´t reckon with this kind of weather, ice cold and rain. Well, getting in the 18degrees warm lake, to warm up. Swimming distance: 750m instead of 1500m Easy start in the water – 1x to the buoy and back to the shore. Because I didn´t know what to expect on the bike course, I pulled on my arm warmers and my gloves.   And I was right to pull them on, because only 7degrees on the bike with speed up to 60km/h are a little bit cold... When I reached the transition area again, my hands weren´t frozen and I was able to pull on my running shoes.   Than I went on the shortened running course of 5km, but it didn´t feel like running.   You had to run 2 rounds with each 2,5km, and the turning point was in the viewers area. To be honest, I haven´t sweat in the whole race.   When I reached the finish, I packed my stuff and travelled to Italy, one week holidays with my family and on the Brenner we had 30degrees and in the evening I swan in the Adria, without a wetsuit.   Thanky you my dear Klaus for the nice pictures! Daniel
