IRONMAN Regensburg August/2011

... or the battle in the rain in Regensburg. On the RACEDAY, we got rain and 14degrees. From our appartemen, we could see the cathedral, the old-town, the IM-running course and the river Donau. the IRONMAN Arena Maren and her new Ridley, alias „ Pink Panther“ on her way to the bike check-in, while we got temperatures around 28 degrees. You can see, not only the sun is laughing today... ... Damn it, we still don´t got a navigation system on the bike, please don´t loose the paper with the direction map. Hey ... Tortuga, where the hell is Tortuga??? The stress is growing…just 30minutes to go for the start…two Iron-Pirates (Stephan und Reiner) and a Rookie (Maren) .. The bike course finally with 14 degrees, rain and wind... But after 3,8km bathing with 2000 other athletes, 180km cycling in the pouring rain and 42,2km of running along the river Donau,we made it,we finished and became an IRONMAN... And How about Maren???...a freshly new IRONwoMAN... The reward for the 226km...the noble metal.. Day 1 after the race, let´s go to the Award Party and of course by wearing our new „ Finisher Shirts“ The big haul: Maren ended up with a time of 14:43:27h on the 36th place in her age-group and Reiner with a time of 13:11:46h on the 259th place in his age-group.   Greetings  Maren and Reiner
