Willingen 2011

We made our way to the Sauerland, to the bike-festival. Our princess stayed at home, because Willingen is not Riva, it´s just a men-weekend with BBQ and lemonade. The old mool started at 7:30 in stating block B, obviously I wanted to ride the big course, but I´ve alrady rode the twisting rodes under the cable car and got 100km and 2775m of altitude on my tachometer, and I didn´t want to get up there again, No, no possibility to lure or something, I´m sure in my age is the middle distance the right distance.. But my sons, wanted to rock the very next day. Victor (U13) and Leo (U17) were well prepared and really confident to end up on the podium and to recieve the Milka junior trophy, was the main goal.   Last year the old mool told the wrong tactic, but this year everything should be better, just to ride easy after the start and wait for your time to come in the first group.. Capt´Ron told us a tale, when he was young, must be around the turn of the century, when he rode on his own and always was first, just to be catched shortly before the finish, Victor and Leo were deeply impressed. And the younger should listen to what the old tell. So, shortly after the start Victor and Leo in their own races almost flew and passed everyone of their groups and stand in the wind, with their bulky bodies…. Result…no trophy, but in between race, lying on the first place and having lots of fun.   See you soon, André Döring
