Snake Triathlon

Like in the last year I wanted to participate at the Snake-Triathlon at the 14.07.2012. Schlangenbad is just 30km and 300m of altitude away from my home and so I rode by bike there. At the Snake-Triathlon you´ve to solve 600m of swim, 17km MTB and a 5,5 cross-run. It rained the days befoe and so the course became a really mud and slippery course. For the 600m of swim I needed 12:49min, I wasn´t satisfied with this time, I wanted to be faster than this, anyhow, I ceme out of the waters on the 2nd place of the only women group, the other faster swimmer, were in the group before us. When I was on my bike I had this constant feeling, that something was wrong with my brake or that I had a flat tyre, but it was just the mud on the course,really exhausting. Really dirty I entered the transition area again with a time of 52:15min including the first change. Than it was time to enter the muddy running course, because I just had one power gel with me on the bike, I powers went away on the second half of the run. I needed 30:02 including the 2nd change for the running course, it was disappointing. But after all, it was the 2nd place overall  and AG, after the constant winner Eva Böhrer. Than I was satisfied, because I knew, I would only had a chance against Eve, if she would shower herself after the swim and dry her hair.
